Elizabeth Yancelson DAc.
I am a board-certified acupuncturist licensed by the Maine Board of Complementary Health Care Providers and the Texas Medical Board. I studied Biological Sciences at Smith College and earned my Master and Doctor of Acupuncture from AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, where I also worked as a research coordinator. As a medical student in Austin, I completed clinical rotations in several integrative settings, including Seton Community Clinics, Austin Recovery, and Austin Pain Associates.
Working in private practice, I split time with patients in both Maine and Texas. I have collaborated with physical therapist colleagues to provide natural pain relief and mental health care for pregnant, postpartum, and oncology patients, treated patients at Crossroads Behavioral Health and Addiction Treatment Center, and volunteered with Portland Veterans Acupuncture Clinic to provide free care to veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am certified by the National Acupuncture Detox Association in auricular acupuncture for trauma and addiction, and trained in de-escalation and Trauma-Informed Care by Texas DFPS. Additionally, I hold a certificate in Integrative Oncology Acupuncture from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer in New York.
In 2023, I joined the integrative care team at Soft Corner Midwifery, where I work closely with the midwives alongside a pelvic floor PT, lactation consultant, nutritionist and doula. Together, we provide holistic, inclusive reproductive health care.
I am passionate about mindfulness and self-care, and have taught mindfulness skills to high-risk children and adults in various organizations, including Communities in Schools, El Buen Samaritano, Seton McCarthy Community Clinic, Portland Veterans Acupuncture Clinic, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Austin and San Antonio.
